PHC-IGG Commitment
STRATEGY FORMULATION
To increase access to cardiovascular care in the country , bringing the "brand" of Philippine Heart Center patient - focused and compassionate care to the regions were necessary. Five regional government hospitals were targeted by the Executive Committee in five major cities in the country based on the location, capability for infrastructure, and number of patients. And more importantly, a shared vision . The Executive Director in consultation with the Hospital Chiefs have identified the five Regional hospitals which are as follows:
Region 1 Batac, Ilocos Region Mariano Marcos Memorial Medical Center
Region 5 Bicol Region Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital
Region 7 Cebu City Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center
Region 10 Cagayan De Oro Northern Mindanao Medical Center
Region 11 Davao City Southern Philippines Medical Center
Our Big Idea
Since most heart patients from the 7,107 islands of the Philippines cannot be expected to come to the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City for specialized treatment, PHC will go to where the patients are. Existing regional hospitals will be upgraded and are currently being upgraded in infrastructure and manpower resources. These hospitals will be allowed and encouraged to carry the PHC brand to inspire confidence among the regional patients on the quality of cardiovascular care provided in the new facilities that will even bear resemblance to the iconic facade of the main PHC building. To expedite the adoption of these satellite hospitals, PHC cardiovascular specialists will regularly conduct outreach missions to perform advanced heart surgery and procedures at least until the local specialists can perform independently.
