Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
The Section of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) at the Philippine Heart Center is equipped with a high-field (1.5 Tesla) MRI system. MRI uses a strong magnetic field and a sophisticated computer system to construct detailed, cross-sectional images of the body. These enhanced, high-resolution images help physicians study the brain, spine, joints, abdomen, pelvis, and the cardiovascular system.
Services of this section include:
  1. Diagnostic
    • Head/Cranial – Brain (Pituitary Gland, Seizure Protocol, Diffusion Weighted Imaging), Paranasal Sinuses, Orbits, Internal Auditory Canals, Neck
    • Thorax - Chest
    • Abdominal - Liver, Gallbladder, Pancreas, Kidneys, Adrenals, Spleen, Urinary Bladder, Uterus, Prostate Gland
    • Spine - Cervical, Cervicothoracic, Thoracic, Thoracolumbar, Lumbosacral, Whole Spine
    • Extremities - Shoulder, Hip, Upper and Lower
  2. Special Procedures
    • Angiography - Intracranial, Neck/Carotid, Thoracic and Abdominal Aorta, Renal, Peripheral
    • Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP)
    • Breast
    • Cardiac
