PHC Tops Logo Design Contest for Patient Safety Celebration
The Philippine Heart Center (PHC) participated in the recently concluded National Patient Safety Week (June 19-23, 2017) celebration which was spearheaded by the Department of Health (DOH) through the Health Facility Development Bureau (HFDB). The celebration was able to generate interest and commitment of healthcare providers to a Culture of Safety, as its fundamental principle of health care delivery system in improving health outcomes.
The DOH through HFDB challenged the DOH hospitals to showcase the essence of the Culture of Safety through Best Practices, Research Papers, Logo and Slogan Making Contests.
PHC was able to visualize the Culture of Safety through a logo that represents the synergy and conscientious effort of the entire community of healthcare providers as it instills a safe environment of healing and caring for its patients.
The logo embodies the culture of safety that is being promoted in the efforts to safeguard one of the foremost needs of both the patient and their healthcare workers -- their safety.
The two hands represent the safety initiatives that the healthcare institutions lay for their patients and healthcare workers. The hands (front and back) envelope them for the purpose of ensuring coverage on all sides from the health- care related dangers, such as medication errors and health-care associated infections.
